Parent Visa (Subclass 103)

Parent visa allows parents to migrate permanently to Australia to stay with their children. This visa requires that you need to be sponsored by your child or another eligible sponsor.

Who is this visa for?

This visa is for the parent of a child when they lodged the visa application who is settled in Australia as a permanent resident or eligible citizen of New Zealand. This means your child should be residing in Australia with proper rules and regulations for reasonable time i.e 2 years.

Additionally, you should be able to show the following to get the Parent visa:

  • At least 50% of your children should be a permanent resident in Australia or eligible New Zealand citizen who is residing in Australia.
  • More children are living in Australia as compared to another country as Australia permanent resident or New Zealand eligible citizen.

Requisite of the Visa

  • When the decision is taken for the application you should be outside Australia.
  • You are the parent of a child who is living in Australia for around 2 years or eligible New Zealand citizen resident of Australia.
  • The applicant should be in good health.
  • There should not be any debt which you need to pay the Australian government.


Privileges of the visa

If any of your family members (this includes you) are due to pay any sort of money to the Australian Authority, you need to pay the total amount or in cases where it is a way long term you can apply for a procedure to pay the debt in a formal retrieving way.

How much does the visa cost?

The Subclass 103 VISA cost from AUD6,415. You need to pay additional charges if any other family member applies with you. For this visa, the cost is paid in 2 parts which are known as installments.

  • When you apply for this visa pay the first installment and second installment is paid when Australian immigration asks you to.
  • The additional cost is paid for police certificates, health check, and biometrics.
